Product Description
V.cholerae has a heat-resistant H antigen and a heat-resistant O antigen. The former is a common antigen with low specificity, while the latter has group specificity and type specificity, which is the basis of grouping and typing of Vibrio cholerae. According to the different O antigens, there are 155 serogroups of Vibrio cholerae, of which only O1 and O139 cause cholera. Serogroup O139 is a new type, which has no cross-reaction with O1 antisera, but can cross-react with O22 and O155 serogroups, and its genetic characteristics and virulence genes are similar to those of O1 serogroup.
